Haiz. Today is Miss Yvonne's last day @ work. Its quite sad. She has been a really great fren of mine from Public Affairs. Wish u the best yeah Ms Yvonne. Will miss all ur suanings and "lecturings" and we N S F s will sure miss all ur scoldings! hahaa.

Well, after Ms Yvonne's incident (Shangarila thingy), kinda start to ponder, why i am not comfortable working with the military just like how Ms Yvonne felt. The following are wad i wanna say.

Why I dislike working in the military

1. As long as you hv the experience and had stayed with the military for long, you call all shots. Even if it means to be unreasonable at times. (Guess many will agree with me, some WOs are really out to just make life diff for us)

2. Rules are rules. Cannot play by it. (rather inflexible yeah?)

3. Discipline msut be observed at all times. (Like hello? We are already 19 - 20 + yr old adults! Why must we even be controlled wad kind of hairstyle we must have?)

4. There's alot of stress esp when it comes to things that might end u up in jail cos you'll be CHARGED for giving wrong figures! (Hate it when in the govt sector, you need to CC a.k.a cover cah ceng, and be EXTRA careful to not provide wrong figures and info.)

5. The low efficiency at times really does pisses me off

There are more reasons to it, but shall just stop here.


Ultimately, I know that discipline is indeed needed to keep the army going, but honestly, military life is really not suited for me. Dislike the culture and the rules. Just wanna gt over and done with this 2 years, and move on with life. But for now, guess i just got to accept the fact that i am serving the nation, and i'll just got to give in my best and observe the rules.

and also, just read an article on PM lee's son Lee Hongyi.

I think actually PM Lee's son did not do a wrong thing. It's just that his complaints were not answered through the proper channel, that's why he has to resort to this. Instead of reprimanding LTA Lee, i feel that the ministry should on their side also review, how to better provide a good complain channel for servicemen.

I believe LTA Lee is not the only one who "suffers", and there are alot of people out there whose complaints are not reached to the ministry due to lack of knowledge on how to go about making complaints, and voicing out their problems. They are afraid of voicing out their problems as they do not know what they mean by PROPER CHANNEL. I think the ministry should provide more information on what they mean exactly by PROPER channel rather than just provide a vague term and expect servicemen to know what they exactly mean.

wow. It's been really long since i last updated my blog. Haha! Life has been happy and busy for me these few months. But everything is going really smooth. I have almost everything i want. ALMOST! haha. and yup, i 'll work hard to get wad i wan, and i really mean it ! :)
